🚀 Getting Your First Job — What to Expect

If you're wondering why you don't have a job yet, this is completely normal.
Here’s how the system works and how you can get moving faster.

🔄 How jobs get distributed

Jobs aren’t assigned randomly. When a job opens up, the system notifies Pros in a specific order based on tier and proximity.

As a new Pro, you start on the Intro tier.

Here’s how the queue works:

  • 🥇 Platinum Pros see jobs first (nearby, then farther out)

  • 🥈 Gold Pros next

  • 🔵 Blue new Pros — you get ahead of Silver engaged Pros here

  • ⚪ Silver Pros

  • 🟢 Intro Pros

  • 🟤 Bronze Pros

New Pros on the Intro tier are toward the end of the line — which means in active markets, jobs can get claimed before the notification reaches you.

👉 That’s why the first job can feel slow to arrive.

Fastest way to fix that? Get to Blue.

🔵 What Blue Tier means for new Pros

Blue is the top tier on the new Pro scale. It puts you ahead of Silver Pros in the job queue — meaning you’ll start seeing jobs sooner, even ahead of established Pros.

And the best part: it’s more achievable than most expect.

Blue requirements (for new Pros):

  • ⭐ Review surplus of +3 or higher

  • 55%+ completion rate

  • 8% or lower cancellation rate

📅 Tier updates happen weekly when you’re new — so good work shows up fast.

⚙️ What to do right now

  • ✔️ Accept the first job that comes in
Your first job matters more than it seems — not because of one metric, but because it starts your track record.
Pros who complete their first job on the scheduled day are significantly more likely to still be active by their 10th job.

  • 🔔 Check your settings

    • Location services ON and set to “Always” for the LawnStarter app

    • Text notifications enabled (Intro Pros get text alerts)

    • Service area + availability set correctly in the app

  • 📍 If you’ve been waiting a few days with no offers:
Check your service area. If it’s too narrow — or you’re in a lower-volume market — that’s usually the reason.

📊 The first few jobs matter most

Out of every 100 new Pros who start, about 56 are still completing jobs by their 7th week.

The ones who make it usually have one thing in common:
👉 They show up and complete what’s scheduled.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You need to be consistent. 💪
