How Jobs Are Assigned

Ever wonder how jobs are offered and assigned to Pros? We have the answers. We designed our platform to recognize and reward the Pros who bring their best—showing up on time, delivering top-notch work, and creating great customer experiences.

Everyone starts at the base tier, but as you crush jobs, earn strong ratings, and build trust, you’ll level up.

And the higher your tier? The more job opportunities come your way. 💪 More trust = more work.

Understanding Pro Tiers
At LawnStarter, our tier system rewards the Pros who deliver consistent, high-quality service. Whether you’re just getting started or already crushing it, there’s a clear path to level up and unlock more opportunities.

🔹 New Pros: Either signed up within the last 3 months or completed fewer than 20 mowing jobs in the past year.
🔹 Engaged Pros: With us 3+ months and completed 20+ mowing jobs in the past year.
🔹 Disengaged Pros: Signed up over a year ago but completed fewer than 20 mowing jobs in the past year.

Once you complete 20 jobs, you’ll enter the Pro Tier system, where your level is based on:
- Jobs completed
- Customer ratings
- Reliability and consistency

🎯 Pro Tiers at a Glance
New Pros move through Red, Intro, and Blue.
Engaged Pros can level up from Bronze to Silver, then Gold, and finally Platinum.

🏆 Platinum Pros are the top of the top — the ones customers rave about. They deliver exceptional service every time and even earn tip matching as a reward for their outstanding performance.

Top Pros Get First Dibs on Jobs
The higher your tier, the earlier you see available jobs — it’s that simple. Here's how job access works, from highest to lowest tier:

  • Platinum – Top-tier Pros

  • Gold – Trusted, experienced, and consistent

  • Blue – Reliable and steady

  • Silver – On the rise and gaining momentum

  • Intro – New Pros completing their first 20 jobs

  • Bronze – Still building up experience

  • Disengaged – Signed up 12+ months ago with fewer than 20 jobs

  • Red – Limited access

What’s in it for you?
Higher-tier Pros get first shot at the best jobs — ones that are closer, higher-paying, and more in demand.

💡 Pro Tip: If you're not seeing certain jobs, chances are a higher-tier Pro grabbed them first. That’s why climbing tiers matters — it gives you more control, better options, and a smoother, more profitable schedule.

How Jobs Are Assigned in the LawnStarter Pro App
Jobs pop up in the marketplace based on your starting location — so setting that address in the LawnStarter Pro App is key. It helps us send you jobs nearby and build a route that works with your day.

📍 You’ll see jobs within 15 miles of your starting point, based on your current tier. Want to switch it up? Just update your starting location in the app, and you’ll start seeing jobs in that new area.

🔁 Heads up: Once you take on a customer in a certain area, you’ll stay on their schedule going forward. So be sure you’re good with working that part of town long-term — those repeat jobs can really add up!

Pro Tip from a Top 20 Leaderboard Pro
“Don’t claim more jobs than you can do,” says LawnStarter Pro Willie Carmichael from Apopka, Florida. “That’s an easy way to wear yourself out,” he adds.

Willie knows what he’s talking about — he’s earned a spot on LawnStarter’s Top 20 Tip Leaderboard. His advice? Don’t go it alone. The secret to his success is his family, who help out mowing, trimming, and blowing debris.
